"International ARC Awards" is the world's largest and independent international competition honoring excellence in annual reports and corporate communications. "International ARC Awards" is branded as the "Academy Awards of Annual Report" according to the financial media. Judging is based on the values of creativity, clarity, effectiveness, and excellence of the annual reports.

In accrediting Asia's Best Companies 2006 by FinanceAsia, China Telecom Corporation Limited was awarded with the "Best Commitment to Strong Dividend Payment 2006 - China", ranking 2nd.

Hong Kong renowned financial journal CAPITAL awarded China Telecom Corporation Limited with "The 1st CAPITAL Outstanding China Enterprise Awards - Telecommunications", to recognize China Telecom's commitment in stabilizing both the Chinese and global economies.

To accredit Chinese enterprises in contributing to the global economy, CAPITAL presents "The 1st CAPITAL Outstanding China Enterprise Awards" to honor Chinese enterprises which had outstanding performance in the past year. The judging panel assessed the performance for the years 2005 and 2006. The judging criteria included financial results, asset value, quality of management, corporate culture, overseas expansion and potential, marketing strategy and development, as well as research and development.

By using sales, profits, assets and market value to measure a corporate size, China Telecom ranked 162th in "Forbes Global 2000" for the Year 2006, the world's largest 2,000 public companies.
