China Telecom Allied with Russian Telecom Sino-Russian Agreement on Building/Maintenance Fiber-Optic Cable was Signed in Beijing

On July 15,Mr. Zhou Deqiang, General Manager of China Telecom, put his signature to Sino-Russian agreement on building/maintenance fiber-optic cable with Mr. Erouking(translation), the General Manager of Russian Telecom. Mr. Xi Guohua, the deputy-minister of Ministry of Information Industry, took part in the signature ceremony and made an important address.

The agreement prescribed that both sides would introduce DWDM technology to build an inter-cities fiber-optic system of 80G between Heihe City in Heilong River Province of China and Bulageweishenx (translation) City of Russia. The system will be constructed and operated in the end of this year.

After establishing the system,the both great corporations will provide the telecommunications services that will be more advanced, more excellent, more safety and more economic. They will utilize their networks together to develop and provide the transmission solutions with good performance and low-price for raise telecommunications capability between Asia and Europe.
